Keyword Research
Overture's "search term suggestion tool" gives too many misleading suggestions and not enough depth of choice for the keywords to use on your website. This keyword research tool (WordTracker) will give you the precise information you need in picking your industry keywords.
If you are not already subscribing to WordTracker then you should sign up for the service today.

Respecting Your Website Linking Partners
Once you have your link partners lined up, make sure their links are nicely visible on your home page (unless they have asked to be placed somewhere else). They should be easy to see and as attractive as you can make them. Make sure you know whether they want their website name as the link or if they’d rather have a descriptive phrase. Last but not least, make sure the link works—nothing can foul up a friendly link exchange than an unnoticed-typo that takes visitors nowhere!

Follow up with your link partners
Once you have your link exchanges established, pay attention to their statistics. Links that don’t pay off aren’t worth keeping, so you may end up tinkering with position, phrases or products to find a better fit over time. You’ll want to know which of your partners are providing you with the most unique visitors, and which of those are actually buying from you. Remember, the ultimate goal is to increase your business, so keep track of what pays off for you and what does not.
So there you have it. Link exchanging isn’t difficult, but it does take some careful work, and ongoing attention. It’s worth it, though, because if you do it right (and you will do it right!), it will boost your rankings in the search engines even as it directs more traffic to your site. You don’t have to pay out any cash; just pay attention to quality – of your content, your partners, your links and your stats. Think of your links with others as your site’s sales circulation system: don’t let personal inertia, poor choices or broken or dead links clog things up. If sales are your site’s lifeblood, think of link exchanging as the aerobic exercise that keeps your system healthy and flowing.
